This course will provide physical therapy students with a brief insight into a few unique specialties, settings, and/or populations in the physical therapy profession; including sports & performing arts rehabilitation, home health, and leadership careers within PT.

Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:

  1. Understand what the setting/specialty population is and how it relates to our education as physical therapist
  2. Identify common patient diagnoses seen in these specialties/settings/populations and have a general understanding of what important treatments should be included in their intervention(s)
  3. Understand the process of becoming involved in the setting/specialty/population once they are licensed physical therapy professionals including but not limited to additional courses, continuing education, residencies/fellowships, etc.
