Amy Bala is a Senior University Lecturer and the Co-Director of Clinical Education in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Governors State University. She earned her Bachelors of Science Degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1999, her Master’s Degree in Physical from Midwestern University in 2003, and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Governors State University in 2017. She is certified in wound care from the National Alliance of Wound Care and the American Board of Wound Management, and a Fellow of the American College of clinical wound specialists. She has presented clinical education topics at the Illinois Physical Therapy Association annual conferences, as well as at Governors State University. Amy’s research concentration includes wound care and clinical education. Prior to her academic career, Amy worked as a full time staff physical therapist at a hospital in the south Chicago suburbs from 2003-2014 in the fields of wound care, acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, and served as the Site Coordinator for Clinical Education. She continues to work as a registry Physical Therapist in the fields of wound care and acute care. Amy has earned the Advanced Credentialed Clinical Instructor and a Credentialed Clinical Instructor from the American Physical Therapy Association.
