Dr. Heidi Moyer, PT, DPT (they,them) is a physical therapist based in the Chicagoland area. As a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Geriatric Physical Therapy (GCS) and a Certified Exercise Expert in Aging Adults (CEEAA), Heidi is the Chair for the Illinois Physical Therapy Association Geriatric Special Interest Group (GeriSIG), having spent the past 3 years working to build up the GeriSIG after it’s creation in 2019. Dr. Moyer is currently an adjunct faculty member at Governors State University in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program and has previous experience teaching continuing education for Illinois Physical Therapy Association, and for conferences such as IPTA Revitalize, National Student Conclave and Combined Sections Meeting. They are the current program Director for the Evidence in Motion Geriatric Certification Program. Heidi is an active APTA Geriatrics member, serving as a leader in multiple roles for APTA Geriatrics with the State Advocate Program and Balance and Falls Special Interest Group (BFSIG). Dr. Moyer currently works in the long-term acute care setting at RML Specialty Hospital in Hinsdale, Illinois and has previous clinical experience in the inpatient rehab and home health settings. Heidi was the recipient of the APTA Geriatrics President’s Award in 2020 and the APTA Emerging Leader Award in 2019 and looks forward to continuing to push the boundaries for care for older adults in all settings by providing evidence-informed continuing education.
