Dr. Amy Barnett is a proud graduate of Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) where she received her bachelor’s degree in social work, a Master of Science in applied psychology, and a Master of Education in psychometry. She received her Ph.D. in educational psychology from Oklahoma State University in 2010. She is currently a professor and the director of the LPC program at SWOSU. Prior to joining SWOSU in 2005, Dr. Barnett worked in a variety of settings including outpatient counseling, a children’s shelter, and therapeutic foster care. In addition, she is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), LPC Supervisor, and a Certified School Psychologist. She has been a member of the Oklahoma State Board of Behavioral Health Licensure since 2013 and is on the LPC Complaint Committee. She also enjoys staying active in the field through her volunteer work as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) and through her non-profit, STEP-UP Transitional Living Program.
